From the Board

The Board of Trustees would like to welcome everyone to the 2011-12 school year. This year we will continue the implementation of our Strategic Plan, which outlines the academic, social growth and development of our students and provides direction for the continuous improvement of the District. We would like to thank our community for passing Measure E and allowing our building program to continue. The first phase of Measure E projects has begun at Fisher Middle School where we have broken ground for a new ten classroom building.

We are very honored to serve the Los Gatos and Monte Sereno communities. We are fortunate to have such wonderful teachers, administrators and support staff working for our District. Our schools are a valued asset to our community and we are dedicated to seeing that this continues.

At this summer’s retreat we discussed our Board goals of continuing to be accessible at our school sites and District functions, providing ongoing communication with our parents and community, and building on the trust and relationships we have built with our employees and parent volunteer groups. Throughout the year we will be focusing on budget issues so that we can continue to provide excellent educational programs for our students despite the unstable financial climate.

Our regular Board meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The meetings are open and the public is invited and welcome to attend. Thank you for helping us provide a safe and academically rich environment for our children.

It is the mission of the Los Gatos Union School District to provide all students with broad and rich educational programs which will provide an understanding of human knowledge, enabling them to have a full range of choices in their lives and to become responsible, contributing members of society.
