Phil Couchee, 2006 - 2010

Board President

Family: I have been a resident in Los Gatos since 1956. My family first came to Los Gatos in the early 1940s and all attended Los Gatos Schools. My wife Kim and I have two children. Our son Rob, now a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, attended Louise Van Meter and Fisher. Our daughter Tami attended Louise Van Meter and Fisher and is now a sophomore at Los Gatos High School.

Education: I also am an alumni of the Los Gatos Union School District having attended Blossom Hill, Louise Van Meter, and Fisher Schools. After graduating from Los Gatos High School in 1973, I attended University of California at Santa Barbara receiving a BA in Business/Economics.

Community Service: I am in my second term on the Board. I served as President in 2006, and have served on the Budget Advisory Committee and Facilities Committee. I am currently a Member in the Rotary Club of Los Gatos.

Profession: For the last 5 years I have been General Manager at South Valley Disposal & Recycling serving Gilroy, Morgan Hill, south Santa Clara County and San Benito County. Prior to this I worked for Green Valley Disposal and Waste Management managing collection companies in the West Valley Cities and San Jose.
