The Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage an architectural consultant to create a long term facilities master plan for the District hit a milestone at the March 6, 2012 Board of Trustees meeting. At that meeting, the Board authorized the District to negotiate a contract with Cody Andersen Wasney Architects (CAW). CAW is a full service architectural firm located in Palo Alto that was founded in 1993 and specializes in educational facilities. They were selected after a thorough process of narrowing a list of eleven firms who received the proposal request to a finalist reviewed along with the top three by the Board of Trustees. Brent McClure will be the Principal in charge for the engagement and has already shown tremendous creativity and thoughtfulness in matching our facilities vision to our educational goals. In addition, the application process following the community meetings in the winter months has resulted in a terrific parent committee being identified for stakeholder participation and will begin meeting with the team very soon. We are very excited about the opportunity to begin the work with CAW and the community on our next long term facilities master plan to ensure our future facilities roadmap is one that truly meets the needs of what is best for students and learning!
